The Helsinki Music Centre Foundation

The purpose of the Helsinki Music Centre Foundation is to promote the advancement and nurturing of a diverse musical culture, mainly in the Helsinki Music Centre.

The foundation awards grants for activities and acquisitions that promote its aim. The foundation is non-profit.

A donation from the Pro Musica Foundation in 2007 forms the basis for the Helsinki Music Centre Foundation. The Pro Musica Foundation awards grants to projects in classical music.  In addition, the Helsinki Music Centre Foundation has opened the Mecenate Fund, which awards grants primarily to the performance of types of music other than classical music. Money for the Mecenate Fund is raised by means of the fundraiser A Music Centre Open for All.

Projects to be supported will be chosen mainly for their content.

The chair of the foundation is Tuula Haatainen, Deputy Mayor of the City of Helsinki.
