Families at the Helsinki Music Centre

The Centre is well suited for families with children. A spacious café, baby changing facilities, and children’s concerts make visiting the Centre easy.

A kid-friendly oasis

Helsinki Music Centre is a popular meeting place in the centre of Helsinki for families with infants.

The spacious café is easy to access during the day for visitors with prams or baby carriages. The café has high chairs for children.

A microwave oven for heating children’s food can be found at the café. Parents can enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee and delicious savoury and sweet edibles.

The Centre’s spacious baby changing facilities are situated in the accessible toilets.

The Centre’s architecture and artwork are pleasing to both the little and the big ones.

Concerts for the children

The Centre hosts several children’s concerts and an annual children’s week.

The Centre’s broad repertoire can also be looked into through attendance at student matinées and open general rehearsals.

Children are often more open minded towards different music genres. We encourage parents to attend some of the Centre’s basic concerts as well.

Concerts should, however, be attended according to children’s attention spans, and it should be kept in mind that adult-oriented concerts require a certain degree of politeness.
