Get to know Helsinki Music Centre

Musiikkitalo - Helsinki Music Centre offers public and private tours. School tours are provided free of charge.

Public tours

The one-hour guided tour introduces guests to the daily life of Musiikkitalo - Helsinki Music Centre, its architecture and the Concert Hall.

The tour includes a fair amount of walking; however, it is possible to use the lift.

The tours are conducted in Finnish unless stated otherwise. Each tour will accommodate up to 30 people.

Public tours are mostly arranged during the summer. Tour dates and times can be found on Helsinki Music Centre’s events calendar and Ticketmaster’s website. 

Tour tickets are for sale at the centre’s ticket sales and Ticketmaster offices, the online store and through the telephone service.

Tour prices

Normal tickets (including handling charge) start at €14.50.

Discount and group tickets (including handling charge) start at €11 (pensioners, students, unemployed, servicemen [military and non-military], 3- to 18-year-old children, and groups of 10 or more).

Note: At Helsinki Music Centre’s ticket office you can buy tickets without the handling charges.

Open from Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on holidays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Groups

Come and see the Helsinki Music Centre with your group!

Helsinki Music Centre’s interesting world opens up for your group during the one-hour tour. The guided tour will acquaint visitors with the Centre’s activities, architecture and the Concert Hall.

The tour includes a fair amount of walking. However, the tour is accessible for wheelchair users.

Tours are available during workdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., depending on the Centre’s booking situation. The tour can also be combined with a concert: to avoid overcrowding in the lobbies, the tour will begin no less than 2 hours before the concert starts.

A tour group accommodates up to 30–35 people. Groups exceeding this number can be allocated two or more guides, if required.

For an extra fee the guided tour can be combined with a coffee, which is served before or after the tour in our beautiful Foyer Café.

Group prices

€10 / person (includes VAT)

Minimum charge €100 (includes VAT) for 10 people.

The tour charge can be paid at the Centre’s cash desk during the tour or by invoice later.

Guided tour with a coffee/tea + savory or sweet pie: €18 / person (includes VAT).  Ask for further details while booking your tour.

Tours combined with coffee are charged only by invoice. 

Reservations

Send your reservations to ryhmat(a)musiikkitalo.fi.

Please, include the desired date and time for your tour and, if possible, any alternative dates and times. This way we can immediately check our reservations if your primary date is not available.

We recommend sending  your request approximately one month before the date of your visit at the latest. 

Your message should also include the number of participants, billing address and the contact details of the contact person and any special requests and needs (for instance wheelchair access).

Reservation requests are answered within four days.

Tours with coffee: the exact number of the group must be confirmed one week before the tour at the latest. 

Cancellation terms

Tours can be cancelled without charge no less than three weeks before the proposed tour date.

If a group is not able to attend a reserved tour and does not submit a cancellation in time, we will charge a fee of €80 (includes VAT).

Schools

Helsinki Music Centre offers tours for primary school children and upper secondary level students free of charge. School tours are a part of the centre’s Kuule! Educational Project.

The one-hour guided tours introduces pupils to the daily life of Musiikkitalo, its architecture and the Concert Hall. The duration of the tour is approximately 45 minutes (~ 1 hour).

School tours are mostly available in the mornings starting at 8.30 or at 9 o'clock. 

Reservations

Reservations are submitted via e-mail to: koulut(a)musiikkitalo.fi.

Please, tell us your group’s name (for instance school/class) and the desired date.

If possible, the message should also provide two to three alternative tour dates. This way we can immediately check our reservations, if your primary date is not available.

We recommend sending  your request approximately one month before the date of your visit, at the latest. 

The message should include the number of participants, contact details to the contact person, and any special requests and needs (for instance, wheelchair access).

One group accommodates up to 50 people. At least one supervisor must attend the tour.

Reservation requests are answered in four days.
