Get to know Helsinki Music Centre

Musiikkitalo - Helsinki Music Centre offers public and private tours. School children tours are provided free of charge.

Public tours

The one-hour guided walking tours will introduce the participants to what happens at the Musiikkitalo - Helsinki Music Centre, its architecture and the Concert Hall.

The tour includes a lot of walking; however, it is possible to use the lift.

Tour dates and times can be found on Helsinki Music Centre’s events calendar and Ticketmaster’s website.The tours are conducted in Finnish unless noted otherwise. Each tour will accommodate up to 30 people.

Tour tickets are for sale at the centre’s ticket sales and Ticketmaster offices, the online store, and through the telephone service.

Tour prices

Normal tickets (including handling charge) start at €14.50.

Discount and group tickets (including handling charge) start at €11.50 (pensioners, students, unemployed, servicemen [military and non-military], 3- to 18-year-old children, and groups of 10 or more).

Ticket price € 00.00–10.00: charge € 1.50 per ticket

Ticket price €10.01 - €39.99: charge €2.50 per ticket

Helsinki Music Centre’s ticket office does not charge handling fees.

For groups

Come and see the Helsinki Music Centre with your group!

Helsinki Music Centre’s interesting world is open for your group during the one-hour tour. The guided tour will acquaint visitors with the Centre’s activities, architecture, and the Concert Hall.

The tour includes a lot of walking. However, the tour is accessible and therefore suitable for visitors moving in a wheelchair.

Tours are available mainly during workdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., depending on the Centre’s booking situation. The tour can also be combined with a concert. To avoid overcrowding in the lobbies, the tour will begin no less than 2 hours before the concert starts.

One group accommodates up to 30 persons. Groups exceeding this number will be allocated two or more guides.

 

Group price

€10 /person (includes VAT)

Minimum charge €100 (includes VAT) for 10 persons.

The tour charge can be paid at the Centre’s cash desk during the tour or by invoice later.

 

Reservations

Send your reservations to kierrokset(a)musiikkitalo.fi.

Include desired date and time for the tour and, if possible, some alternative dates and times. This way we will be able to immediately check our reservations if your primary date is not available.

The message should also include the number of participants, contact details to the contact person, and possible special requests and needs (for instance, accessibility).

Reservation requests are processed in the order of their arrival and are answered in four days.

Cancellation terms

Tours can be cancelled without charge no less than three weeks before the proposed tour date.

If a group is not able to attend a reserved tour and does not submit a cancellation in time, we will charge a fee of €80 (includes VAT).

For schools

Helsinki Music Centre offers tours for primary school children and upper secondary level students free of charge. School group tours are a part of the centre’s Kuule! education project.

The one-hour guided walking tours will introduce the participants to what happens at the Helsinki Music Centre, as well as to its architecture, the residents, and the Concert Hall. The tour’s duration is approximately 45 minutes (~ 1 hour).

Reservations

Reservations are submitted via e-mail at: koulut(a)musiikkitalo.fi.

Please headline your e-mail with your group’s name (for instance school/class) and desired date.

If possible the message should also provide two to three alternative tour dates. This way we will be able to immediately check our reservations if your primary date is not available.

The message should also include the number of participants, contact details to the contact person, and possible special requests and needs (for instance, accessibility).

One group accommodates up to 50 persons. At least one supervisor must attend the tour.

Reservation requests are processed in the order of their arrival and are answered in four days.
