Enjoy live music from Sibelius Academy students during summer afternoons at Musiikkitalo!

Event description

Mirva Tarvainen is a versatile musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist who is specialised on playing string instruments, including double bass, violin and the Finnish bowed lyre. Singing is also a strong element in her music. Tarvainen's solo repertoire is based on traditional Finno-Ugric folk songs that she has arranged for voice and either double bass or violin. The combination of human voice and a string instrument provides lively and rich resonance which is complemented by Tarvainen's powerful and touching vocal expression.

Sibelius Academy students play pop up -concerts all through the summer at Musiikkitalo. Music on offer will range from classical to jazz. Most of the concerts are held in our cafe, so you can enjoy a fresh drink and maybe some delicacies while enjoying the music.

All the pop up -concerts are free of charge – welcome!
