An intricately woven programme of French and Russian music.
It would be impossible to imagine ballet without Russia’s Tchaikovsky, though Stravinsky’s Firebird was born in Paris. Dutilleux’s magic concerto for orchestra was in turn influenced by Stravinsky. The soloist in the Tchaikovsky violin concerto is a dear friend, Augustin Hadelich. The conductor, Alain Altinoglu, is Music Director of La Monnaie in Brussels but new to FRSO audiences.

Late-Night Chamber Music:
Paula Sundqvist, violin
Christoffer Sundqvist, clarinet
Emil Holmström, piano
Igor Stravinsky: The Soldier’s Tale, suite for violin, clarinet and piano
